Chris Cook of Metrocom International will develop a short video profile of the Office of Foundation Liaison model, chiefly as practiced in Michigan (Karen Aldridge-Eason), also as practiced in Newark, New Jersey and possibly elsewhere, in the process exploring lessons learned about philanthropy-government communication and collaboration.
Originally created by the Council of Michigan Foundations, the foundation liaison model has tremendous potential for promoting cross-sector partnerships and understanding. The challenge is that, even after several years in action and a highly positive evaluation of the Michigan OFL, the model is still not widely known within philanthropy. We hope the video profile will change that as well as inform and spark more conversation in the field about building greater mutual understanding and partnership between philanthropy and government.
